1718 Coverlet with Susan Briscoe

The 1718 Coverlet is one of the earliest known pieces of patchwork. It is made in silk and the centre block has the initials E H and the year 1718.  It was purchased by the Quilters Guild in 2000 from the Brown family of Aldbourne, Wiltshire. No details about E H have been discovered.

Susan Briscoe has now written a book for the Quilters Guild about this coverlet.

Susan will be teaching a three day retreat here at The Royal Bridlington in October 2015 on the Coverlet. Susans' other area of expertise is Sashiko and she will be holding a one day workshop here prior to the Coverlet retreat.

The dates will be Sunday 18th October for the Sashiko and the coverlet will commence on Monday 19th October.

Quilters subscribed to my newsmails will be first to receive the full details before the leaflet goes live on http://www.quiltsandwich.co.uk  - so if you are not already subscribed just send me an email requesting to join the list.
