Officially now part of the White Van Brigade

Here at Quilt Sandwich, we have now taken the plunge and purchased a super van to use for the Quilt Shows such as Festival of Quilts, Great Northern Quilt Show and others.

Up until now we have been hiring one each time however, our product range of Extra Wide Fabric has proved so popular amongst Quilters that we have booked for many more Quilt Shows.

The last occasion we hired, was rather stressful.

We made the journey down to Hull to collect it and when we got there, Hertz said they didn't have our booking!  We only made it three weeks early with them direct when we took the van back after Festival of Quilts.

Of course they didn't have a van available and to be honest, they could not be bothered to help locate one. We had to return back to Bridlington without a van and hit the internet to find one for the next morning.  Luckily we managed to find one for the next day and we managed to catch up and get our fabric to the show.

So yesterday, we collected our brand new van, a wonderful Peugeot Boxer, and took it to our signwriters for signing. Here are a few pics

Getting ready for The Great Northern Quilt Show at Harrogate

Preparations for the Great Northern Quilt Show at Harrogate have stepped up.

Again this year I fell into the trap of entering a quilt into the Great Northern Quilt Show which I had not already made. I have been working solidly now on this said quilt for the last week - lol! I really must be more organised next year!

This year I am for the first time becoming an exhibitor at the Great Northern Quilt Show at Harrogate. Quilt Sandwich will be at stall 100. I shall be taking along my extra wide backing fabric, moda scrap bags and a few other treats.

Deliveries of more fabrics have been arriving almost daily and today we had two deliveries just in time for the Great Northern Quilt Show. I now have 122 extra wide backing fabrics - the best selection in the UK.

These extra wide backing fabrics include Moda, Robert Kaufman, Whistler Studios, Sew Simple, Blank, Studio E, Riley Blake, John Louden & a beautiful batik range by Timeless Treasures XTonga.  These will all be travelling with me to the Great Northern Quilt Show in Harrogate.

I have made up a limited number of these fantastic batiks in to sample packs.  Just £20 for 6 roughly fat quarter sized pieces.

I also have a Colour Your Own fabric which I have made up into special quilt kits. These have fabric for the quilt top, wadding, backing & binding plus the fabric pens too.

The Great Northern Quilt Show 2014 at Harrogate

Well I am just back after a great day at The Great Northern Quilt Show at Harrogate Show Ground. It was rather busy today, but the stand holders said yesterday was busier.
This year again, the show has got bigger. There are more stalls and more quilts! The workshop area which used to be at the bottom end has now been moved into another block.
