Angela Maddens first Trip to Bridlington

Well this week sees Angela Maddens first trip to teach at The Royal Bridlington.

The first workshop was Celtic Design.

We spent the morning learning about how to design and then making two of our own.

We made our designs on 1/8 of a square then traced by folding the greaseproof paper.

Here are some of the students designs

After a delicious lunch Angela showed us how to transfer our design to our fabric and then make the bias and apply to create our designs.

Here are some of Angela's Designs

Day two - Beautiful Blooms

To learn Angela's technique of raw edge applique we all completed a simple tulip

A couple of us then started on an Iris

Day Three - Decorative Edges

Today we made samples of some of Angela's decorative edge techniques

These are some of Angela's samples

And here are some of ours

Work completed by Heather during the retreat

We have had a great three days with Angela Madden learning many new techniques and ideas and such a lovely lady too.
