Today on my ABM Innova longarm I have the pleasure of quilting a very special quilt.
A few weeks ago Susan Briscoe was asked to fly out to China to teach some chinese ladies patchwork.
Here are just a few of her pictures ...
You can read more about her amazing journey here - http://susanbriscoe.blogspot.co.uk
The top was made by chinese students who had never done any patchwork before and they made the blocks in teams - six of them sharing a sewing machine. They equipment and tools were very limited due to there being 67 students having to share and the fabric choices were selected prior to the event by Singer - who provided the machines too. These are the kind of colours the local Maonan ladies love.
Susan brought the blocks back to the UK with her to assemble into a quilt for them and asked me to quilt it for them.
The pantograph chosen for this quilt is
Oriental 003 by Sweet Dreams Quilt Studio.
You can see this quilt - it is going to be on display at Scottish Quilt Championships, Edinburgh
25th to 27th September.
